rowanberries: (Bang bang no more problem!)

You know you love it.

Okay, didn't even watch that entry sequence. *Whimper* Where'd I put that bottle of wine?

Camping! Hee! Oh, Owen is such a girl. But aaaw, Tosh. Hee, Jack, and yes, yes they do. Oh, Ianto. BUT I'm proved right. Absolutely no follow-up to the team blanking Jack after last week. Grr.

Man, awkward silence.

*snerk* Owen? Digging a hole. A hole called 'I'm jealous of Gwen's actual boyfriend.' Gwen? The hands-on is not backing up your insistence on not wanting to fuck Owen's brains out. Amusement is all I got here, though I now like Owen, and Gwen hasn't annoyed me so far this episode.

Why is Jack referring to it constantly as 'the SUV'? Couldn't he just say 'car'? 'van'? Anything that didn't make him sound like a prat?

Also, lightswitch, guys. Look into it.

Oh, Gwen, I do understand, but this is NOT THE FUCKING TIME. Talk about it in the light. The light! Where there are no bodies! Hooray for no bodies!

Oooh, Tosh and Ianto. The... two least physically qualified to defend themselves... sent to find the SUV - bugger, I'm doing it now - which they know is the bait... Jack, are you trying to kill off the Torchwood staff again?

Yes, Ianto. It's a fox. And so was your girlfriend.

Blimey, that'll leave a mark.

For the next part, I quote myself on IM: amyberries: Aw, Jack's angryface!
amyberries: It's all red and scrunchy!

It is.

Ow. That looks painful. But there's something cool about Owen going about his doctoring. And he's good at it! He's good at dealing with a person as a patient. I like that. Good in a crisis.

Ianto and Tosh... aww. Sort out their own arguments!

Don't open the fridge. SRSLY DON'T OPEN- Told you.

Gwen... no, actually, they probably do have a miracle painkiller that lets her be standing up now, but she's really going to regret that later.

JACK STOP FUCKING FLIP-FLOPPING. "You're not going, you're not going, you're wounded, you're not- oh, fine." Man. I think he secretly does want to get his entire team killed.

...Man. Okay, so it was an excuse for this scene and some rampant homoeroticism. Oh wow. Okay, this is scary and something I should have known, but I can't concentrate because Jack's angry!pout is cracking me up.

Yeeeeah, uh-huh. Kinda saw that coming, or something like it. Still pretty cool, though.

Tooooooooosh. You go, girl. Good on Ianto, too. Also, ow. Oh, Gwen. You really should have shot the policeman, but it's not your fault you have morals.

Unlike...

GO JACK! GO ON MY SON! WOOHOOOOOO!!!

*cough*

Man. If Jack doesn't say 'can I torture him if you question him?' then I'm millicanoning it in.

Okay, three second rule, Jack. One joint taken out every time he doesn't answer.

Gwen. That's the oldest trick in the oldest book ever, and if you fall for it you deserve to get bitten. Oh, good, some sense retained.

Aaaand scene. Ooh, next week looks fun. Yay Tosh! And I knew about Gwen/Owen in any case, so.

Hmm! I know a few people thought the ending was a cop out, but I actually rather liked it. Because you do hear of these things. And while Wales is a little small for that level of isolation and inbreeding, I realise they couldn't go far, and it's likely the rift was slowly affecting and exacerbating that line of thought until it became full-on slaughter, genetically and culturally embedded. So, the relatively new connection to the world brought by cars and phones - notably cut off here, even mobiles - which does indeed happen in part of Wales, having been there - had not had time to erode the custom. Possibly any villager who went against it was eaten, too. A macabre form of natural selection, to be sure that those that were left had the same intent. It is terrifying what group inertia can produce, so... I think it works.

And Gwen? Did not annoy me at all this episode. Possibly because she took a prominent role through actually doing something that made sense, and not just because the writers apparently wanted her there. And... she was just more believable. She made sense, which in previous weeks (last week) she did not. Good show, guys.

Finally: Oh, Jack. You need to see about those anger issues, but man was your solution to the problem cathartic.

Coming in another post: Another meme, and something actually to do with my life!
