[Poll #1094734]

Wow, a lot of people have done this while I've been away. I'll try and go back through, see if I can think of anything for you all when I feel a little less sick. :(

I've been at home this weekend, for Grandma's birthday and Christmas cake making and general visiting. It had been two months, and it always feel weird, how much bigger and brighter everything is at home. Little bit sad now, even though I'll be back in two weeks. It doesn't help that my mother shoved an armful of books at me including The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. If you like emotional novels, I can highly recommend it, but with a warning - it's a painful read, and truly horror-inspiring in places, although also sweet and very poignant. I've cried about five times in two days over this book, and I probably will again if I let myself think about it too long tonight.

Oh yes. I am cool and in control. >_>

My name was Salmon, like the fish; first name, Suzie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973. My murderer was a man from our neighbourhood. My mother liked his border flowers, and my father talked to him once about fertilizer.

Ow.

Seriously.

I think I sobbed the entire way through that book.

*Flails*

I think parts of it felt too real, it was heartbreaking.

Jesus that book made me cry constantly. I kept bursting into tears while I was thinking about it.

Oh, that book. I'm not usually much of a one for tearjerkers, but that . . .

I love that book. I didn't cry, but I've only cried a couple times over books so that isn't saying much.

But, that book is just...I don't have words to describe it. It's just wonderful.

And, painful in a lot of places.
