Basically, I need to do a running commentary on this so's I have an excuse to pause it and flail every five seconds.

So.

GO MARTHA.

I feel that's going to become a theme throughout that episode. Only thing that would have made it better would be if she'd shot her after ascertaining her friend was really dead.

Oh, my god, the Doctor's actually a watch. HAAAAA. We now have two people, really, 'John Smith' and the Doctor advising Little... LBfLA. Much easier.

Not!Baines is awesome. Very OTT but that works for me. Yes Sir!

Oh god, oh god. The music, and all the little boys with guns, that's so wrong. Ow.

GO MARTHA! Medical knowledge ftw.

Oh, Joan. Oh, John Smith. You're not real, and she's beginning to see it.

LBfLA!!! <3! I don't care what a plot-device he is. I love him.

...Oh god.

Oh my god. *Sobs on desk* Those boys. Those children, and the singing, oh god. It didn't even lose anything by having it be the scarecrows that died, it's perfect and still so horrible. Um. I need tissues.

And the Doctor didn't shoot!

But for fuck's sake, SHOOT HER. Martha knows there's no way to save the people they took over.

...Oh John. Don't cry, I'll come apart completely.

Watch! Watch! EEEEEEE! Oh, Martha. Oh, John Smith. Someone tell him that he is the Doctor, just with human memories and body! He's not dying! It's just changing. Come on. Don't be afraid.

Oh, Joan. I kind of love you myself.

...Oh my god. It's- The Doctor's showing them. He's giving them that life, just in a few second oh god crying again where are those tissues...

...

Anyone else think the Doctor's 'clumsiness' is planned? He totally talked to the watch before doing this. Totally. Meeeeep.

HAHAHAHA. Of course it's empty. Hee hee hee.

YAY DOCTOR I LOVE YOU! WE MISSED YOU AND I TOLD YOU ABOUT THAT CLUMSINESS <3 <3 <3!!!!!

....Whoa, that's creepy.

...Oh, Joan. And that's such a- the best way to show the Doctor from the outside (NOT in things like Love and Monsters, ugh) is like this. Because this, in him just being himself, is being cruel. The Family brought their eternal punishments on themselves. Joan just fell in love with a doomed man. And I'm so glad he offered to take her with him, but it rang so true that she couldn't. He could have been kinder. But he always had been about the truth, and the truth is that she'll be in pain no matter what.

*Snerk* That was awkward. And... the dialogue would not be so great, but the music behind it... there's the pain and suffering and love and hurt behind it all, right there, and it's perfect. Oh, Martha.

YAY HUG! And I'm glad he thanked her.

Note to self: Must not app Joan. Not apping Joan. Or LBfLA. But, um, Eric Ahem. Roger, in fact.? If you happen to want either for OOM purposes...?

I.... I...

I have never cried so hard at a TV show in my entire life.

All you who have never seen Doctor Who. Watch this two-parter. It hurts. It's perfect.

I need a hug.

EDIT: Aaaaaand now, I figure Supernatural might make me feel better.

Oh, John. Boys, hug your Daddy.

*Falls over laughing* Oh, I love how you can just see Dean's expression go from SRS BIZNZZ to Y HELO THAR at the sexy receptionist. *snicker*

Oh, Sam. You are so adorable when you try and undercover! <3!

HAAAAA. I mean. Oh. "Sometimes it's just like she's reading your mind!" AND THE LOOK ON SAM'S FACE. Oh boy. I love him.

NO KILLING MONICA. We've only just met her, and she's all sensible and nice and things. Also, she actually looks a reasonable age to have a baby, which is surprisingly rare in TV shows. Normally new mothers look about eighteen.

...Wah. No kill Mummy. Poor baby Rosie. Go Sam, go!

GO DEAN. YOU TELL THE SON OF A BITCH. Sorry, Daddy Winchester. But you don't really get to be righteous about your sons not contacting you when you ran out on, then wouldn't speak to them. I don't care how good your reasoning was you just don't have that right. Lay the fuck off.

Oh, Meg. Could you be more transparent? You just want to call them off so the Boss can have free rein on Rosie and her Mommy. I think not. Winchesters, get ye to a Blacksmith! All you need it a replica, dudes!

Sorry, Sammy, but duh. That's what you have two teams for. John is used to working alone, you and Dean work together. That's how it goes! Go kick ass!

Oh, Dean. You're so... freckly. Don't ever go away, y'hear?

(I want Jack Harkness to meet these two. Can you imagine?)

Don't worry, John! They're too hot to lose! I mean, too well-trained! Totally well-trained! In conclusion: Well-trained!

Ooo. Go, Daddy Winchester! Blessing the water is always clever.

Neat! I thought she was going to shoot him, now the other way around! Man, she's a stupid bitch. She didn't think to test it? Dumbass.

...Um, yes Meg. It is cute, seeing as it worked. God, I hate you. And I normally like villains. You suck. In fact, I'm fantasising about you getting burned by said DIY holy water. Stupid cow. Just... shut up, okay?

Go boys!

Go boys!! Get the baby, and why the fuck is the father fully dressed and downstairs? Whatever! Yay Sam! Only you didnt get it, augh! Aw, Dean saves baby! Um! Aaaaaagh!

Wow, this show is stressful.

Um. Daddy Winchester is being attacked, but he seems more constipated than anything. Er.

Oh, boys. Saved the people, but lost the demon. No, no, Sammy. Don't die. Oh. Boys. *Hugs tight* Oh. Oh, Dean. You are the sensible one! Damn right! It isn't worth dying over, too many have done so already. Preach it, brother.

...Wah.

Oh, boy. Next! Right now!

It would be a weird sort of fun to have Tim Latimer (that was his name, I think, as the charrie?) come in from different parts of his life from time to time.

But other than the beginning and the end that we know, he'd basically be an original character. So many more things thatn just WWI must have happened in his life. Basically all of the 20th century.

*stares at all the history, shudders with awe, and runs away*

Just imagine - a running commentary of the entire 20th century? Perhaps with some additional Doctor Who type history braided in?

...That is true.

I have no idea why I wrote that.

Um. Actually. Possibly it was the wine. >_>

Sorry. *Goes and sits in the corner*

Y'know, I'm not sure (AMAZING as this two-parter is) that I would introduce anyone to Doctor Who with it - the impact is in KNOWING the Doctor is gone, and that he could fix it, but he's NOT THERE. If you don't already know the Doctor, I rather suspect people would be on John Smith's side - or just not really get it at all, you know?

But. AMAZING TWO-PARTER OMG.

That's true. It's just... AUGH. It's an excellent example of how good the show can be, if not a good introduction to the franchise.

WAH.

I think I tried to hit the monitor when he YET AGAIN nearly forgot that he already HAS a companion. Dear God. GO MARTHA FOR BEING AWESOME!

He can have more than one! And, really, he kind of owed it to Joan to at least ask. Though I think lil' Timmy might have been a better one, all-round. But then we woud have lost the ending, and that's what had me bawling in an embarrassing manner, so.

I have to confess, it made me rather wibbly too. But I do sort of wish they could have taken him. He'd have handled it better than Joan.

Oh, gods, I am so looking forward to hitting this episode with in-bar Doctor.

Bringing John Smith into Milliways would be cruel, wouldn't it? Of course, I'll do it anyway.

And yes, I will definitely let you know when we get to that point so you can play the NPCs.

Of course, my first thought at the end was "Woah. Blodwen was So Very Lucky she didn't get on his bad side."

Limited lifespan versus immortality. *eyes Angie North* Mmm, second chances. Yum.

Skipping the DW spoilers as I have not seen yet...

(I want Jack Harkness to meet these two. Can you imagine?)

Yes.

Yes I can, in fact.

Well, pre-canon, he was a time-traveller...

(And you so must see the DW. These last three episodes have been brilliant, if alternately heartwrenching and terrifying.)
