If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence several lines from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence several lines so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

Like I have very much anyway... )

Om nom brainmeats )

Mwhahaha. I didn't get a full length one, but the dress was both highly impractical for work (oh, costume parties at Lush <3) and awesome. Full length, dirty white, floaty. And yes, that is theatre blood on my face in the later ones. I freaked so many people out today. *grins*

Now I really need a bath. BUT LATER I WILL COME ONLINE. DAMMIT.

I just want you all to know that I look awesome.

Braaaaaiiiiins...

I could resist this one's temptation, but where would the fun be in that?

On the theory that we could all use a hearty dose of positive energy and general warm fuzziness while we wait, none too patiently, for better times; that *no* one I know is getting told often enough what a good job they are doing just getting through this crazy, lovely world. Take a second, and mention something you like about me (if such a thing exists) in the comments. Then repost this to your own journal, and have some goodness for yourself.

---

Work was... cold, mostly, today. :) I love Lush deeply, as you all know, but aaaaaghcold! Still, I cut and wrapped a lot of soap - which sounds dull, but is actually one of my favourite things to do. Not sure why, it's just really satisfying.

Oh yeah, and the knives we use are nearly the size of my forearm. :D

WHAT THE FUCK, SNOW?!

SERIOUSLY?
rowanberries: (Opera Ghost/Laughing)
You know, my dreams are really getting weirder by the day. Night.

Last night involved the sacred ball of yarn that had defeated Voldemort, hidden away by Prince Zuko in his ongoing territory war/courtship with Queen Susan of Narnia. A secret stash of gold coins and a chalice came into it somewhere. Meanwhile, the government had passed a resolution that all British citizens had to be rounded up into camps before being redistributed into economically viable homes/jobs, and a gang of teens were making use of London's many secret passages to keep hidden from the Faceless Henchmen.

I'm... not even sure where to start pointing blame for that one.

So last night I learned about migraines, that was fun!

No it wasn't.

Meeeeeh. *Curls up to watch The Parent Trap*

Oh, fine. That egg thing. What can I say, I have a weakness for dragons. >_>

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Save them!

Ooo. Feet hurty.

But in a good way!

Today I have achieved:

Training at Lush. (health and safety drills, how to cut up soap 101.)
Soup. Mmm soup.
Research assistantry at home for a couple of hours.
Helping with Christmas stock, at Lush again.
Five hours at pub.
Shower (v. important.)

*Downs glass of wine and heads off to tag things.*

To do: Dry hair before passing out. Yes.

Pro: I got a job in Lush.

Con: Meaning I had to cancel an interview last minute.

Pro: I didn't actually want to a) do that interview or b) work there. Also now I have time to get to that careers fair.

Con: Bleh walking.

Pro: Job in Lush. I'm pretty hard to bring down at the moment.

Con: For breakfast I accidentally made a honey sandwich out of tomato bread. Yeah, I'm stretching it here.

Pro: No interview = More time to do research assisting for next door neighbour.

Con: I'm now holding down three jobs. Four if you count the babysitting.

Pro: Moneys. And Lush products. :D!

Oh yeah.
rowanberries: (Duuuuuuuuuude.)
So, how exactly does one sing 'When the Going Gets Tough' convincingly?

With preteen backup singers and dancers?

I feel this will be special.

The 'what do you have in your bag?' meme!

The bags I carry vary a lot, but stuff mostly tends to be in one big one that I then decant as needed, so I went for that.

Picture! )

And now for lunch and rehearsal!
rowanberries: (Duuuuuuuuuude.)
Oh, crap.

And it is crap.

But, crap.

Avec rambling and bitching )
rowanberries: (Helium cat)
And I almost resisted this one. *Sigh*

The Love Compliment Meme

-----

Let's see - have been in Cardiff this weekend, chez Bethan, who put up with us all with cheerful good grace, and spent our time drinking, cooking stupendous amounts of nutritionally dubious food (all hail frozen pizza!) watching geeky things, playing games and prancing about just outside Torchwood HQ.

Yes. Really.

I have pictures to prove it.

Fear, Britmuns. :D

You guys.

You guys, I just got back from a committee meeting for my theatre group, and heard the casting for our next panto. I get to be the Principal Boy. *Dances around the room, slapping thigh in fiendish joy*

...Again, for Americans and other deprived people: Pantomime.

Only slightly brought down by the fact that the Principal Girl? My sister. 'Cause that's not weird at all.

(The drag, you guys!)
rowanberries: (Duuuuuuuuuude.)
You guys, I cooked the most awesome dinner tonight. *Beams proudly*

Sister made little twirly poofs for starters - red pesto and grated parmesan on puff pastry baked in teeny spirals. I was going to make soup, but then it turned out there out to be ten of us, and that's some serious bowls, so we turned the watercress and rocket into salad instead. I made lemony mustard dressing, and that's all fine.

Then we did a stuffed salmon with garden herbs, coriander and lemon, and baked it for great protein; and I did spicy-sweet vegetable tagine, with interesting toasted spices and tomatoes, sweet potatoes and fennel and garlic and ginger and chilli and pureed dates and things; with shallot, spring onion and pistachio couscous. Nom.

Oh, and we baked lemon and ginger cheesecake and served it with fresh raspberry coulis and double cream. Uh-huh.

We're so good.

Alas, now I am drunk of wine. Goodnight!

Give me a character and I'll tell you what I like/love about them.

:D
rowanberries: (Helium cat)
Okay, now this I cannot resist.
