*Cries. With. Laughter.*

*Slightly hysterical laughter, it's true, but anyway.*

So today was the big culmination-of-term debate in my seminar group. I had done my helpful research, added to the Speaker's main argument speech, all that, yes.

Out of my hands.

So, when British Rail decided not to run the 12:14 train last night, I sighed, but was not too worried, because I had discharged my responsibility, and a more trustworthy person than I had control.

So, no sleep.

No food to speak of.

8:45 am. Phone rings.

Main speaker girl: *Sick. Going to doctor. CanyoupleaseleadthedebateAmy, it'llbeeasy?*

Amy: ...Ahahahahano. Really. No.

But it was okay. I had a sandwich, and much coffee, and much coca cola. This led to slight twitchiness and a tendency to babble.

So when I transpired that I needed to make up an introduction, focus to argument and conclusion to our position, when I didn't actually agree with our side of the agreement anyway?

Slightly crazed scribbling during the other group's speech. Oh yeah. Because not knowing what you're opposing is sensible.

I think my closing argument was: "So, um. Damn, I haven't written that sentence yet. Er. Historians should focus on facts because they are history. And objective, obviously. Um. Yeah. QED, I mean. Okay, done."

And yet? I totally won at the questions. Mostly because everyone else had only just woken up, and I was on a complete high by that point, as demonstrated by helpless laughter every time I tried to make a point.

I so very nearly said 'Well, although you have the stronger position, your argument is weak, so we should technically win, you know.'

Which was true.

But would not help a friendly, meant to be professional debate. *facepalm* So close.

But I had fun. And despite having the side of a debate which, when it came down to it, was wrong, I managed to argue everyone else into complete confusion over a technicality. That was nice.

I think everyone thinks I'm insane and scary. It's like they just met me, not technically worked alongside me for a term.

*sigh*

Now I'm going home to come down off the caffeine high and get some sleep. But tell me how you all are!
