Okay. I know there are clever, tech-savvy people amongst you, oh, flist. So please. Can somebody give me a clue as to what is happening? I'm trying to download GIMP again, and get it to work. The downloads have worked, runtime environment, help and the program itself. I have used it before on this computer, and it has worked.

But whenever I click on the icon to start it up, I get this error:

gimp-2.2.exe - Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\Program Files\Common Files\GTK\2.0\bin\libcairo-2.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your application diskette.

...Never mind that it's free downloaded software, and as such, doesn't have a diskette. I have no idea what's going on. I have the right version of everything, checked several times. I tried temporarily renaming that file to 'off' - it promptly told me it couldn't run without that specific one.

I ask you. What?

I just want to make silly icons mocking Jack Bauer. Is that so much to ask?

ETA: It's probably partly something to do with that laptop crash, since I haven't been able to get it to work since after that - but when I first installed it, I didn't need anything extra, and I reinstalled all the necessary programs that we bought. At my wits end!
