No more school for Amy...

Except for, y'know, those exam things. Yeah - study leave began on friday, and there was much... going 'eh', actually. No one really seemed to care that much. I was very proud that there was no insincere whining and book-signing or anything. The people we didn't like, we didn't even acknowledge, the people we did - we will see again anyway. Also, the internet is a wonderful thing.
And what did I do for my last week of courses? Backstaged a show, of course! Yay! I was kind of expecting it to be crap, because my theatre company generally is (lovely though they all are), but it turned out really well. If anyone gets the chance to see a musical called 'Personals' I recommend it. Very nice songs. Which I now want copies of.
I kind of failed at backstaging, despite being dressed all in black and carrying a borrowed maglite in my back pocket. The trouble was there were only two of us - and one was some kid doing work experience, and I had never done it before. And taking everything down? Well. There was me (skinny eighteen year old girl with no physical strength and/or experience) and a load of blokes who mostly had training. So I was a little superfluous. But I feel I hauled stage weights around convincingly, and managed to rescue myself when large pieces of stage fell on me, so it's all good.
I think the best part were the traditional practical jokes on the cast during the show - one guy had to do a song and dance routine with pretty ribbons tied around his hat - and another had to look at a picture with Rude Things drawn on it. (Which was absolutely not my idea. Um.)
Note to self - next time, strike set BEFORE having a celebratory drink with the cast.
Finally, I got given my very own maglite at the end of the show for helping. It is purple and shiny and I have named it Paul.
